It is with a heavy heart that we have sad news. Herb Sandford, peacefully passed away last night. He was ill for a long time, but he fought through it trying to do the things he loved. We were the lucky ones, that one of those things was being our friend and coming to the field to enjoy his love of friendship and flying. Herb was our Field and Safety Officer and has been a member of our club for 10 years. He will be sadly missed. The family will let us know when arrangements are completed and we will pass them on.

I really enjoyed all the time I spent with Herbie over the last 2 1/2 years. Some times 3-4 and 5 days a week. We got to become very close friends in that short period of time. He was was always cheerful and shared many a joke with me. I will miss him very much.
RIP my friend

Herbie was one of the constantly good things about the club.

He was always cheerful, even when it was obvious that he did not feel well.

He will be missed by all.
