So... after digging around the interent and posting a few inquiries I have found that the receiver that I had in the plane has a firmware issue that causes it to blakout do to intreference from the electronic ignition and not re-establish the link.
I was certain there was no pilot error involved and the culprit had to be electro-mechanical.
Now I just have to figure out what to buy...
