Well after stick building the Lazy Bee I decieded to Stick build another plane. This one is a 35 sized profile designed around the Sabach style Plane. This one is being built for Electric. I am building 2 at once, the first one is for Haggie since he did the lights and covered my bee. Now he can cover this one also :banana

It Took a couple of hours to get the wing done

Almost done

While the wings are drying I started the Ailerons

Check out the new wing joining system that they came out with. If you look the joiner it is attached to the main spars and has a hole in the middle for the carbon fiber tube. The back of the wing will have anti rotation dowls. You can make the rwing removable but I am not. It's a small profile

More to come stay tuned...

I was thinking of building one of these too. Did you buy the kit or just download the plans?

I downloaded the plans. The guy wanted somewhere around $80.00 for the kit.
For $95 dollars I got all the wood and carbon fiber tube to make 2 kits. It just takes some time cutting out the pieces.
These are the pieces that have to be cut. I cant see paying $80 for those few pieces, some sticks and 3 sheets of balsa

It was a kite building website. They had a ton of different sizes in all sorts of Lengths.
I will have to see if I can find it, I can't remember off the top of of my head what it was.

It's not that bad. But then again I am building 2 at once. So yea it was a lot of wood to cut. No more stick building for me. I will stick to the kits after this one.

I got the wood from http://www.nationalbalsa.com. They had the best prices around at the time, but they are closing their doors shortly going out of business.

I got the carbon fiber tube from http://www.goodwinds.com/. A ton of selections.

Elevator and stab are done.

Elevator/Stab

The nose section of the profile is made out of 1/4 balsa wood with A piece of 1/16 ply laminated to each side. Below all the sand bags is that nose section being laminated.

Now while the nose section is drying I am cutting and dry fitting the fuse. I don't want to glue anything untill I get the nose section done and fit everything first. The carbon tube does not get glued in untill the fuse is built. For now it's there for a fitting reference point
