I'm building this J-3 that I got a few years back. I have little to go by, though I do have the prints. Anyone know of a sight I may have over looked that has this planes build? Also Engine is in question for this. DLE 30? I haven't got a clue. Any input would be greatful.

I am currently working on servo installations at the present. I'm running Futaba (of course) all the way around. 3305's. Heavey duty and more then I will need for this boat. I got the wing tube the other day and installed it. It went pretty smooth. Here is a shot of the tube beinging tested before being cut to fit in fuse.

Ceasor is making my 30" extentions for my servos. He needs some 4-40 rod, so we makin a swap. (Thank Ceasor)

Hey Rich, that is one huge cub! It looks like your going to need a gallon of paint for it.

Can't wait to see it fly.

Thanks for the compliment. Today I installed other servo on on the other wing and bolted up everything to see where I'm at. All the blind nuts, and dowels go togeather perfect. So I guess tomarrow God willing I will start my struts. I wana do them with the wings attached to see where I'm going to mount my plates for attaching.
A few years back as alot you guys know I did a build of my OMP 560 Edge on this site as well as on RCU. I worked all winter on that thing and to this day I still like that plane of mine the best. Putting the Cub togeather has been fun and great for passing the winter months. (being I hate going out in the cold) I'm hoping I really enjoy flying it. I think I will. Check it out.

You will love flying it. I know I like my little cub. This year I will get the L4 out even more this year. I have been teaching myself RUDDER input flying on the sim.

NICE WORK!!!

Thanks Pete. I still got a bit of work to do, and everything is tough figuring out. The plans only show you so much. I ordered a DLE 30 for it. I'll probably throw a big prop on it. I did some ordering again yesterday. I need a few sheets of windshield material and I ordered the interior for the cockpit.

Hope to see it up this summer. I would have loved to have gotten out today. Many GOOD happening things going on here that are taking priority. Hope your other planes are ready. I am all set here. I have retired my Katana. I got an OLD edge profile 540 from Rod that I am almost done with. I have to finish the rudder fix, and give it some major ops checks, then the fine tuning. Once all ground checks are 200%, AIR TIME!

Cannot wait to see it in the air! Good luck!

Pete

Didn't get alot done today. I worked on the top hatch, installing hindges and lining up everything. Also cutting out for the door and window. I'm not liking how it takes away from the structure. I'm thinking I will put some heavey dowel material where I can if it looks good. Making the door latch wasn't fun either. It still isn't quite right. It's close but not quite right. Tomarrow is another day.
